The Ross-on-Wye Golf Club

Buggy and Trolley Winter Golf Policy

In this policy ‘the course’ includes the practice green and short game practice area. The purpose of this policy is to:

  • Protect the course during winter months
  • Improve playability of the course throughout the year
  • Ensure the safety of all course users at all times
  • Limit damage caused by buggy, trolley and golfer use during wet, frosty and other seriously adverse weather conditions

Buggy (this includes both hire and personal ride-on) and trolley use in winter months may be reduced in stages, to avoid damage to the course and risk to course users.

Stage 1 – All buggy and trolley use is permitted.

Stage 2 – Hire buggy use not allowed.  All personal ride on buggies, electric and push/pull trolleys are permitted.

Stage 3 – Hire buggy use not allowed. Personal ride-on buggies allowed except on holes 17 and 18 where such buggy use is prohibited. Personal ride-on buggies must at all times remain on pathways where provided and players must walk to ball. Electric trolleys fitted with approved winter/wet weather wheels and push/pull trolleys are permitted.

Stage 4 – No hire or ride-on buggies allowed. Electric trolleys fitted with approved winter wheels and push/pull trolleys permitted, but must remain on provided pathways at all times.

All golfers must comply with signage and traffic management instructions at all times – these are in place for the safety of all course users.

Carrying is encouraged and permitted at all times

Buggies and Trolleys are not permitted on tees at anytime of the year.
